Joe Mad Covers Vampirella
Share Late pass on this one, but it looks like Joe Mad is back on his grizzly with this image of Vampirella kicking a toothy squid in the mouth. Vampirella #1 is scheduled for a November release via Dynamite Entertainment and features a handful of other fan favorites such as J. Scott Campbell, and Alex [...]

New Challenger X-23
Share X-Force headcase Laura Kinney aka X-23 has been announced as a playable character in the new Marvel vs Capcom 3 Fate of Two Worlds for XBox 360 and Ps3. With the appearance of the Super Skrull in earlier trailers, this game looks like a napalm smash so far for Marvel geeks- but I’m still [...]

Black Panther Is The Man Without Fear
Share Wakandan ruler T’Challa aka The Black Panther will be the replacement for Daredevil in the upcoming Marvel series Black Panther: The Man Without Fear written by award winning novelist David Liss, and penciled by Francesco Francavilla. Internets had a field day speculating who would pick up the banner vacated by Matt Murdock, and the [...]

Devil May Cry 5 Trailer
Share Enter the Emo Dante. Resident Evil was always my favorite Capcom franchise outside of Street Fighter, so I don’t have any emotional (swidt?) attachment to Devil May Cry, although the anime is pretty badass. The sleeper hold/stoge smash should come in real handy next time somebody bugs me for an “extra” cigarette.

Gainax Drops Panty & Stocking Trailer
Share I’m gonna echo some of the comments I’ve seen elsewhere and say this looks to be a take on choppy American animation Ala Cartoon Network stylee, but in a more satirical vein ( if that’s possible ). The Afro-ed character looming over the action gets the gas face for being only slightly less annoying [...]

Zuda Comics Shuts Down
Share DC has announced that it’s a wrap for Zuda Comics. Apparently they are making the move to the iPad and Sony PSP, but won’t be accepting any more submissions for their web comics competition. The few times I did manage to peep their site they had some decent looking visuals across the board, but [...]

Freaknik The Musical
Share Some of the biggest names in music and entertainment (Snoop Dogg, Andy Samberg, Kelis, T-Pain etc…) provide the voice overs for this comedic animated redux of the notorious ‘Freaknik’ from ATL of years past. Freaknik was second to none in terms of pure niggorance, and made the average episode of BET Uncut look like [...]

Black Panther Animation Coming To BET
Share Jacked from MTV’s Splash Page The series is written and co-produced by Reginald Hudlin, and premiered this month on Australian children’s channel ABC3. Djimon Hounsou voices Black Panther, king of the African nation of Wakanda. Comics fans will certainly appreciate the John Romita Jr. art used in the intro (or at least, it sure [...]

Ali-G Deadpool Variant Cover
Share J. Scott Campbell spazzes out on this Deadpool variant cover for the current Marvel Siege mega-event. I always dug Campbell’s work ever since his Gen-13/Danger Girl days for his skills at drawing beautiful women, and this cover doesn’t break that trend. Wade Wilson is lookin a bit malnourished though, he might need to hit [...]

Tokyopop Web Comics Announced
Share I’m sure everybody who follows this type of thing is familiar with the whole restructuring ( i.e. massive layoffs ) that went on last year at my old publisher Tokyopop. Now that the economy is rebounding somewhat, Comic Book Resources reports that some of the series that were cancelled or left in limbo will [...]
